Do you have to start every row of a normal pattern from the left? Is it possible to do knot from the left then knot from the right throughout the pattern?

To clarify, i mean knot a row from the left and then knot a row to the right on the return? Does it make a difference to the outcome of the pattern?

No, when knotting normal patterns row-by-row it does not make a difference, if you start the row from the left or the right.

You can also segment-knot normal bracelets btw. I recommend checking out this technique too. It is a bit faster to do than always knotting row-by-row. But knotting row-by-row also has advantages. You are less likely to get lost and it's easier to achieve a smoother result.

Thankyou for your reply i can go ahead and do left to right now. I think i would get mixed up with which row i was on with segment knotting , although i do it on chevrons with no bother. 👍
