And yes, the next time I will definitely use longer strings. This one has 25x70 mm knotted, the string length was 12 cm. The next keychain will be with 14 cm and I will do a triangle end.

I somehow cannot look at the photos anymore, but I think that you could try the clean-back alpha technique.

If you do, I recommend not working with just one string per colour but with multiple of each colour. This way you could potentially reduce the amounts of string that you need to carry through one individual knot.

you mean just cut them into more pieces? whithin the butterfly I have to switch colour so often that I don't think it would be such a great idea.

This upside down tutorial looks interesting. There is no flat alpha upside down, but it seems to be flat though! ๐Ÿ™‚

You can do the flat alpha technique for the upside-down alpha as well ๐Ÿ™‚

On my Instagram https://www.instagram.com/pride.pixels/ I have a story highlight titled 'tutorial' that shows how to do it.

I didn't doubt that ๐Ÿ˜‰ I just wanted to say that Megan in the video didn't do that and it seems quite flat as well.

There are so many great things and not enough time! Hahaaa ๐Ÿ˜‚

@adskelt That's actually a pretty common problem to have. I had issues with that same thing when I started. Looking at your bracelets, you could either use thicker base strings, or you can do what I do ... Get a little plastic ruler (or a credit card in a pinch) and every couple rows use it to push those rows up tight against the previous rows. The added bonus with that technique is that it helps keep your rows super straight as well!

I tie my knots quite tight and I use Moulinรฉ for my strings. You can also use the ones made of polyester, they are all made out of 6 strings. It's not too thin and not too thick.
For my base strings I used the same as my background color, but I consider to use something thinner and (a lot!) cheaper if I would make a longer keychain or even a bracelet.
