I was wondering what you guys store all your string in, and what it’s called/where did you get it?I prefer to keep my string in bundles as opposed to bobbins, and was looking for a large plastic organizer maybe. |

I don't know the name of it. I have one of those plastic organisers where you could also organise screws or similar things. I got it at the hardware store. But I think you should also be able to get similar boxes at craft stores.

I have all my thread on bobbins and then stored in plastic organizers that I got from a craft store.

i like to wrap my string around my fingers a ton of times into a loop, and kinda tie it into a little bow and separate them in clear organizers by color

i just use cards and a clear organizer from the craft store (technically two, theyre organized by color and mostly separated into warm and cool) but i also just use a sturdy small cardboard box for the string i haven't put on cards yet

I made some bobbins! There’s an easy tutorial someone posted in the tutorial section!

i usually keep it wrapped up like how it comes when you buy it. but i just shove it all into a big plastic bag. it's not ideal, but it works. I wouldn't have a good place to put a better sorting option.

I store mine in floss boxes or keep them in skeins. Wrapping the floss around bobbins can have it's disadvantages though, as it gets kinked where it is wrapped around the edges. I slightly steam the floss before i use it, making sure it is dry before i use it. ❤️

@starevans, I have a photo keeper box from Michaels, and I love it! It's a bigger container that has 16 smaller boxes in it. I also like to keep my string as skeins instead of transferring them to bobbins, and I find this is a great way to keep them organized by color!

For me I have a plastic container from dollar store that I also use for beads and other strings. One zip lock bag has most of the skeins and another has scraps to possibly reuse.

I personally store mine 2 ways my “special string” and my back round colors I keep in plastic bags separated by color and then all my other string like just regular string I use to make bracelets with I wind onto bobbins and store them in a plastic organizer. I find that when it is bobbins it easy to compare colors and decide on color combos. Hope this helps😊😊
