What does the Demensions stand for?

So i'm new here and i'm trying to figure out what the dimensions stands for hopefully someone can help me out |

The dimensions specify the number of knots across & number of knots down in the pattern. So if you look at #31732 for example, the dimensions are 11x38 meaning 11 knots across and 38 down.
