I am currently making pattern #135289. I scrolled down to look at the photos of the bracelet others have made and I saw some beautiful work. Mine is wavy NOT straight. Is the only way to avoid, especially on this pattern that crosses over from side to side,"wavy work". Thanks to anyone who can help |

I think something might be missing in your question ๐ค I'm not understanding it properlyYou can definitely use the straight edges technique to help with this issue https://www.braceletbook.com/tutorials/101_the-straight-edges-technique/ A friend of mine knots row-by-row instead of segment-knotting to keep her bracelets straight. I tried it and it definitely works. So if you don't mind that it takes a little longer, you could definitely try that. Apart from that, what helps are consistent knotting tension, not pulling the bracelet to the sides a lot while knotting and making sure it is secured in a way that it won't move around a lot while tying. |

I apologize for the gaffe in my question! Thank you for your answer, your reply is spot on to the stunted half-written question. I do all the things you suggested. I am a beginner that is taking on more complex patterns. Maybe it is more experience that I need. I appreciate your reply, thank you!

more experience was definitely what fixed mine completely! but in the meantime some things i would recommend are tension, as mentioned by halokiwi. tighter knots tend to create that wavy look on the edges, something i always always recommend is tying your first knot a bit tighter to cover any holes, and then the second knot make it a bit more loose as it fixes the tension ๐ also try and make sure you're knotting super close to where your bracelet is secured, like if you use a clipboard just constantly keep moving the bracelet up so you're working really close to where it's pinned down, or if you use tape keep taping it down as you knot
