How do I keep the first row of my alpha bracelet straight? I use tape, but the base strings keep moving and making the first row uneven, even after a couple of rows made!

I'd recommend something like a binder clip with which you can hold down strings a lot more securely than with tape.

I recommend making a triangle end or two triangle ends before the first rows, because then the base strings won't move around as much. after the first row I like to push it up with a ruler and it should straighten out.
