I grabbed a tub of the friendship bracelet thread at Walmart and I feel like it’s so thin compared to the ones I’m seeing on here, is there a specific type I need to make pretty ones?

I don't think it matters, but I'm pretty new to this myself, so I might be wrong!I use cheap thread as well. I do try to use string of the same thickness for each bracelet, because I heard that helps in making bracelets look better. |

Completely agree! Using threads that are the same size and knotting with a consistent tension will help your bracelet turn out. I generally use thread that I got in a big bundle off of Amazon when making my bracelets and I don't find them to be much different than knotting with DMC threads.

I prefer to use embroidery floss not thread because it is more durable. If you try to buy it search "embroidery floss" and it should come up.

I use embroidery floss from hobby lobby. I dunno the brand but it costed $14 to get a 150 pack so I would say its pretty cheap being only 9 cents per floss
