gapping between knots

ive just started and i love it but im having a problem where there is gaps between where i knot and its really annoying me because it makes my bracelets look weird, im not sure if its the string im using or if im pulling too hard or too soft when i knot so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! ❤️

Welcome to the knotting community!!Your string could be too slippery (like I have gold thread that is REALLY slippery and just does not hold knots great so I dont use it much) or you might have to pull tighter when you're knotting. There's a sweet spot with tightness that comes with experience and it's different for every thread type and for every knotter. So I would say, check your thread (and experiment with other types of thread of you're using a different brand than everyone else) and tighten your knots. Gapping usually doesn't happen with super tight knots so I wouldn't worry about that. 😊 |

thanks so much, do you have any brands in particular that are good? i feel like the string im using is quite thin and/or slippery

I recommend embroidery floss, there are lots of different brands. You can find large packs on amazon or go to a craft store.

Personally, is use dmc. It is what a lot of the knotting community uses and can be found at near all craft stores and on Amazon.
