Color gapping

I'm going to add my photo to pattern #129341, so you can check it out to better understand my question. I'm new to Braceletbook and making making bracelets. I really enjoy making the alpha patterns. My issue is, anytime I'm doing a pattern with a lot of color changes, there's gapping/spacing in the colors where I can see previous color strings beside the new color knot. I've tried tightening and loosening the knots but it doesn't seem to help. What do I need to do differently to correct this? I've looked for YouTube videos, as I learn best that way, but haven't had luck, I may be wording the issue wrong though? Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. I am open to all judgement, criticism, and advice you can give me on the pattern I've done. I've done many more that I will upload in time. TIA

Pull on the previous leading string, and the knots should be closer together. That's what I do, hopefully it works for you!

When creating a new knot make sure the old one u just did u hold down tight because it does have the tendonitis to go over and make it look as if the color is blessing through to the other knot, hope that helped

Thank you both for your advice, these are things I try to do. I think, maybe, practicing and improving on these techniques, hopefully, will improve it with time.
