How to keep inverse chevrons pointy?

For reference, I am working on pattern #154853. The chevrons pointing toward me are nice and pointy and at a 90 angle, however the inverse chevrons pointing away from me are too wide - 120 angle? - and I can't figure out how to keep them narrower. It looks messy and it's driving me nuts. The tinier triangle/diamond in between the larger chevrons are 90 and look okay. Any tips??

One way to stop it is to use two extra strings at the end and do a forward backwards knot like how you do an alpha. That is what usually works for me. I think Marsha knotts has a tutorial for it on her YouTube!

Besides using the straight edges technique, you can also try to play with the angle at which you are pulling the strings while knotting. Securing the bracelet close to where you are knotting might also help.
