varying width of alpha bracelet

hello! so i'm having issues with keeping my alpha bracelet straight. my bracelet warps and widens the further i knot down - it seems the more i knot, the wider my bracelet becomes. i find this puzzling because i've watched a bunch of alpha tutorial videos and essentially do everything they do, but for some reason my bracelets end up curving and widening in width, giving it a more round look as opposed to a consistent width all the way down. is there something i'm missing or need to change? thank you very much!

Are all the leading strings you use by the same brand? There can be differences in knot size between different brands which could cause the bracelet to widen.

they are all from the same brand. i thought about it more and in the pattern im following there are lots of color switches towards the edge. i also loosened my knot tension a bit the further i went down so maybe those are some reasons why? thank you for the response!

make sure when your changing your lead string color you pull the old color all the way through. Sometimes when you change colors the knot forms further away than the previous knot. So making sure that your knots have the same tension and are together when changing colors can help proverb the widening from happening. i’ve made a lot of alpha patterns and still struggle a little with edges. got it! i also might experiment with the way i do color switches cause ive seen quite a few different ways. thank you for the response! it's reassuring to hear others struggling with the same issue.
