So I’ve watched about 500 tutorials and practicing over and over. I’ve tried literally everything. Pulling my strings tight/loose, up, down, diagonal, etc and when my knots are falling apart. The 2 halves fall apart. I can’t even make anything anymore. I’m starting to feel like giving up completely and I don’t want to do that. I love making things. What am I doing wrong?

What kind of string are you using? It might be slippery. Or maybe your fingers are extra slick and make the strings slick?
Also maybe try just flipping up the string you just knotted. Like you knot it upwards and leave it up there so it won't get pulled down and loosen the knot. If you use a clipboard maybe you could clip the strings you've already knotted upwards so you don't pull them down on accident. It might slow down the whole process but it'll make the end result worth it. I also have to tighten my knots as I'm going, even if it was a few knots back, since I tend to pull them down as I go.

You can try using a different type of string, cause if the strings are too smooth/slick all the knots will slowly slip out.

You are all the best! I did end up trying different thread. I only use dmc thread but for whatever reason, it must have been too slippery? So far it worked! I can’t thank you all enough.
