how many alpha base strings?

on the diagram thereโs one less string than it says at the top. do i use that amount of base strings on the diagram or how many are said?

You use the amount of basestrings that you can see in the pattern. The amount of strings given is always one higher than that, because one leading string is counted in addition to the base strings.If you are unsure, you can always look at the dimensions. The lower number is the amount of base strings. |
