Recommendations for first alpha pattern?

So I’ve been making normal bracelets for a while now, but still have yet to try alphas. I plan on starting soon, and was wondering if there were any specific patterns that’d be good to start with?

Maybe a rag rug bracelet? I’m not sure of the specific pattern number, but you can find tutorials on YouTube. Some other good beginner ones are #15049, #15234 #4056 and just generally pattern with less than about 16 strings and 3 colours are great for beginners. Hope those suggestions are ok!

Oh, also I just took a look at the photos you’ve uploaded, and they are very neat and nice looking, so making alphas shouldn’t be too hard for you.

I recommend #23680 it was the first alpha pattern I made as a bracelet and it was pretty easy

I made my first alpha pattern not long ago and I went for rag rug bracelet pattern #12398. Each row (leading string) is a seperate piece of string. I used left overs from other bracelets. But be careful not to cut the leading strings for the rows too short because it makes the knotting very difficult. At the end you can trim you edges the desired length at both sides . Good luck! 🙂 |

I would recommend something with 2 colours and few colour switch on the edge, as that's (at least for me) the hardest part. I like those pattern that are easy to follow : #17376, #102771 and #103149 🙂
