Hi!👋🏻
Ever since I started making bracelets I’ve had this problem with chevrons. The middle knot, where the two matching threads meet in the point of the V-shape, almost always messes up. For example, when I have done a V of green and go to complete the middle knot of a yellow one afterwards, it just kinda says “bop” and a little, but clearly visible dot of green pops through in the yellow knot.
Why does this happen?🥵
I don’t feel like I pull that hard, and I’ve tried varying the type of knots I make, but the problem just always finds it’s way back to me..🥴
Does anyone else have this problem, or does anyone have a solution?😬

💕, Molly

In my experience the middle knot is a bit unstable because it doesn't have much support from the sides. That means when you do knots near that middle knot in the next row and you pull too much on the strings the knot can deform. My advice is to be really carefull when doing the knots near the middle of each row.

I still struggle with chevrons.

You have to be super careful making sure that all of the knots are super tight ESPECIALLY The middle one. I've found that doubling each string (holding two strings as one) helps a lot. It does make a bulkier bracelet but it fixed my chevron issues super quick.

Based off your example, if the yellow string is peeking out, pull it hard after you tie the green knot in the middle and it should come right out.

hey I'm a little late to this, but if you pull on the string that is the color that is poking through, you can usually fix this easily! otherwise, you could try making tighter, more even knots (it comes with practice lol) or just untying the knot with a pushpin and tie it again!

Thank you so much for the answers!😊 I’m a bit more careful now, and my chevrons are getting a lot better!😁👍🏻

You can really only fix that with practice, the more you do the better you’ll get but for now just try to keep a consistent knot and don’t knot your strings too tight I think that’s why you may be having some troubles! Good luck!

Tips for strings peeking out is to lightly tug on the colored string that’s peeking out and it should fix you’re problem. It can happen if you tie you knots too tight and one knot flips over the other
