Hi I'm Louise and I've tried to follow patterns before but then I gave up
Now I would like to try it but I have so many questions
I think it's impossible to do it 🤔😂
So here are the questions I hope someone will answer them 😜 :
If you follow a regular pattern how do you know how long to cut your threads?
And what wires should you use?
Those were my two most important questions, it may be that more come to mind, but then I put them in the topic Thank you for reading this and helping me 🙈 👍

If you follow a regular pattern how do you know how long to cut your threads?
I cut my strings to be about 90cm each. This won't work out for all patterns. In some patterns certain strings get used up faster than others, because they make more knots, but if all strings are used evenly, about 90cm should be fine.

And what wires should you use?
Most people use regular embroidery floss.

Those two questions don't really seem to be about reading patterns. Do you have any specific questions about reading patterns?

I recommend this video on how to read normal patterns:

@halowiki I can read a pattern but it doesn't become pretty and it's not relaxing 😁

Ok, I think now I understand your issue more. It's completely normal, that when you just start making bracelets, they may not look the prettiest. The more you practice, the nicer they will look.

Things that help:
- even knotting tension (try to really pay attention how you knot and try to do it the same each time)
- pulling the first half of the knot tight before making the second half (this will help avoid gaps)
- securing the bracelet so it can't move around a lot (I use a binder clip or a clip board)

@halokiwi
Thank you those are very good tips
1 more question : the threads you use are those threads that you also use for embroidery?
Sorry for the many questions 🙃

I do not do embroidery, but I use embroidery thread that can be used to embroider.

Hi I made a Chevron bracelet from a tutorial of masha knots and it was pretty good even though I made it with wool but where can you find the basic tutorial on the beginning and end of making a bracelet 🤔 Because I can't do that well 🙈

If you follow a regular pattern how do you know how long to cut your threads?

I do about my wing span usually holding it with one hand to around the middle of my forearm

And what wires should you use?

I use embroidery thread. You can find a big pack at (location sensitive) Walmart for about $14, and induvial for about 88 cents the last time I saw them. I like to go to hobby lobby or Michaels for individual threads that are about 53 cents.

How do you end a bracelet

There's many ways to end a bracelet. The most I see is braiding the threads altogether then doing a basic knot at the end

This is by far not basic, but this video shows you every possible start and end you might want to do: https://youtu.be/N6-KQDLeKik
