Hello beautiful bracelet community! I have been struggling for the past 2 days over teardrop loop, I watched so many different tutorials and I’m still confused. Basically I am not confused over the loop because that I got perfectly, it’s the “after-loop” that confuses me. Like where do I start making the pattern, do I start on row #1 or do I start the row after the whole triangle, do i do the missing knots besides the triangle? I am so confused on how to start it. Please help, I want to do teardrop so much but my bracelets are just full of holes and not cute whenever I do it. Thank you! |

After the loop you would do a shaped start. Teardrop loop usually refers to a loop and the either two triangle starts or two half-triangle starts (not sure, if that is what they're actually called). Do you know which of those you want to do?To make a shaped start in a normal pattern, you leave knots out. To not have loose strings, you hide those strings in the knots at the edges. In other words, you don't just start in row one, instead you make only the knots that form a triangle-shape in the beginning. I have written a tutorial on triangle starts. Not sure if it helps, but a teardrop loop is basically just a loop combined with double triangle starts. https://www.braceletbook.com/tutorials/98_how-to-make-triangle-ends/ I would recommend first trying to do a regular triangle start (with or without a loop) before you try doing a teardrop loop 🙂 |

Once you've created the loop, you start by adding the knots that are "next to" the loop. Imagine that the teardrop loop is a chevron cutting through your pattern, and start with the knots outside of the chevron. If you were knotting pattern #2, for example, you would knot the first yellow chevron on the outside of the teardrop loop. This is easiest with patterns that can be segment-knotted in chevrons! I would recommend an arrowhead-type bracelet or a chevron variant. #2, #53096, or #17871 would all be good. |

one thing that i do for some bracelets with a teardrop loop is that i do the same knots with the other colors. if you are using fb and bf knots with your loop color and you are done with your loop, just start doing fb and bf knots the same way with your other bracelet colors. then just knot the singular ones at the bottom together with either a f or b knot, (whichever you prefer)
