What do you guys use to undo a mistaken knot? I’ve tried pencils but they don’t seem to work to well.

I use safety pins, but I think a needle would work too.

I turn the bracelet to the back, because there the knots are easier to undo and then I just use my finger nails

I have different techniques for normals and alphas. For normals, I use the eye-end of a needle or a cross-stitch needle. The end is rounded and smooth and doesn't rip or snag the strings like a pin does. I just wiggle it in the center of the knot till it comes loose. With alphas, you can just slide the whole mistake row(s) down the base strings until you can grab hold of the base strings in between the exposed rows, then just pull each one up through the top of the knots, sometimes you can pull a couple/few strings at a time. Then the leading string is free and the knots just disappear. It's much faster than undoing individual knots. Sometimes I still have to use the needle though, or even a toothpick to undo a single one 😅 |

I will use my fingers or a tooth pick. Because I use DMC floss it easily separates and I find the needle or safety pin can break it. But that might just be my experience.

Apparently thumb tacks/push pins (whatever they're called. They're used for cork boards and such) work super well. I usually use my nails (I'm a picker tho so it's kind of a losing battle lol) but if I feel like getting up or I messed up really bad I grab the pin thing
