Alpha base strings

Ok so… I really want to make my first alpha bracelet and I have some embroidery floss that I’m not a really big fan of and I was wondering if I could use it as my base strings for the bracelet even though it is a different type of floss than the floss I was going to use for the actual design. They are both about the same thickness but the floss that I want to use for the base strings is a little bumpier.

You can definitely use different string for the base strings than you use for the leading strings. I would even recommend using base strings that are a little thicker than the leading strings, because it will help the knots be less elongated.
