can i use a slighlty thinner thread as base strings for my alpha?

Hi guys I wanna try to make an alpha bracelet for the first time but i dont have a lot of the same string colours except for one that is slightly thinner then embroidery floss I want to use embroidery floss for the knots, The thinner thread for the base strings Is this possible? Will it look just fine since they are only base strings? Ty in advance |

You can use thinner base strings, but it will elongate your knots. Knots often tend to be slightly elongated anyways. If you don't mind that, you can go for slightly thinner base strings, but if you mind, I'd recommend going for thicker ones or doubling up your base strings.

I’ve used slightly thinner string for my base strings and it didn’t affect the appearance. You just have to be careful making knots because the thinner string gets caught in the knots easier.
