Goodmorning everybody!

I recently started making bracelets.
The back (the part that is on my clipboard) of the strap doesn't look as nice as the front.
Is this because of the knotting method?
I recently bought a bracelet and I see a difference in both sides, but not as much as when I make one myself.
Do you have tips?

Thank you and have a nive day ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Is this about normals or alphas?

It is normal that the front and the back of bracelets look different from each other.

Some normal patterns have a smoother knotting structure than others. Patterns like the candystripe and the chevron usually look very nice from the back, while others where you have lots of different knot types that are all mixed up, might not look as smooth.

Your knots will get smoother and more uniform the more you knot. This also applies to the back of the knots.

If the back of the knots is very important to you, you could try knotting upside-down. Instead of crossing the string over the other strings while making knots, you cross it under. This way the back becomes the front and you have more control over it.

In alphas you have the loose leading strings in the back. You can avoid that by using the clean-back alpha technique: https://youtu.be/NLCUwVXscG0

Thanks for your quick response. It is a normal pattern. I'll try your advice to tie upside down.
