MashaKnots and many others have great videos on how to make different kinds of bracelets. I recommend watching videos to get started.If you want to start with a normal pattern, patterns #1 and #2 are good to begin with. If you want to start with an alpha pattern, I recommend one with 2 or 3 colours and maybe up to 10 base strings. |

as a beginner i would read it book, there are numbers on the sides of pattern and those are your rows. read it left to right and do those knots! for chevrons, they have two sides, the left and the right. mirror your strings (example is pink white red red white pink) take your outermost string on the left side (my example would be the pink string) and make forward knots all the way until that string has gone over the left side. now on the other side take the outermost string (other pink one in my example) and make backwards knots until your two outermost strings are in the middle and knot them together! if you don’t understand by words, there are many tutorials on Youtube! don’t forget that backwards and forwards knots are two backwards 4’s or two regular 4’s to complete one knot! have fun and happy knotting!!

Black is a good colour to have, because it is often used for outlines

@emmastr this isn’t a MUST but it might be nice to have like a few pastels that would look good together or the same with a few neons. those colors can really complete a bracelet
