there are 2 ways to read normal patterns: segment knotting and row by row. I recommend segment knotting, as it breaks up the bracelet into manageable and saves time.Masha Knots has a video on reading normal patterns which I think would be very beneficial. you can find it at the top of every normal pattern where it says "how to make patterns" but also on YT. if the pattern is repetitive, it will be easier to memorize. alphas and normals both use knots, they just have different knot structures. I think the best patterns to use multicolored string with is patterns with outlines. I think there's another forum post about this somewhere with a lot of info. hope this helps! |

There are definitely normal patterns that you can easily memorise. Patterns that are easy to memorise are mostly patterns that are easy to segment-knot and which repeat a lot. The easiest patterns are probably pattern #1 and #2.But not all normal patterns are easy to memorise. Just like with alphas, in these cases, you have to look at the pattern while knotting to know what you need to do next. |
