Why is my alpha elongated?

I just started my first alpha pattern and for some reason the result is stretched out vertically compared to the picture. Anybody got any suggestions or explanations for this?

Knots are longer then they are wide. I've never tried it, but I have heard using 2 base strings instead of just 1 helps to prevent that from happening. 🙂

Yes, as the previous user said this is completely normal! I've personally found that loosening my knot tension can help a lot
