you can click on your pfp and username if you’re on a phone and hover over it if you’re on a computer. there will be a little icon that says “create pattern” and u can design one from there. hopefully this is what u were wondering but if u need help with actually making the pattern i might be able to help you as well.

Do you want to design a pattern or do you want to knot a pattern?

So Brenna I’ll break it down as simple as I can
You click on the knots and I already told you what they all mean, try to make it look symmetrical, it’ll take time to design it properly the way you want it, but once you have it, go back to the original page (the one that’s not interactive normal) and you can change the colors the way i showed you. Below that you can change the order of the colors. Also be sure to check the warnings at the top, add keywords you can find what keywords are acceptable if you go to the patterns page scroll to the bottom and find in small gray writing “guidelines”. Then once ur done with that click the box confirming the pattern is yours and submit and wait for it to be reviewed

@geduza do you want to design a pattern? If yes, do you have a specific question and do you want to design a normal or alpha pattern?

@halokiwi Hello, I am from Georgia. I wanted to create patterns with the theme of my country, normal or alpha ones. I also wanted to create a pattern of the Georgian alphabet, because there are no such templates. But I'm struggling to understand how to create patterns by myself, and publish here.

Thanks for the links, hope they will help in some ways.

@geduza I think a pattern of the Georgian alphabet is a very good idea.

For this I recommend to use an alpha pattern. In the alpha pattern generator, you can use 'draw alpha' and then draw the letters knot by knot.

Alpha patterns are a bit easier to design than normals, because in alpha patterns any knot can have any colour, while in normals that is not the case. Normal patterns are more restricted and therefore a bit harder to design.

If you want to design a normal pattern, I recommend playing around with 'interactive normal' and checking out what happens. I think this way you can get a good feeling for the structure of normal patterns and how to get certain designs to work.

And if you can't get it to work, you can always request others to design a pattern for you in the request section of the forum.

@halokiwi Thank you very much for clarifying it for me 😊I had no idea I could ask someone to create a pattern for me. I guess I should upload hand drawn example of a pattern or picture of what I want to request.

I think providing information about which specific alphabet you want, should be enough. @geduza
