So I'm making a bookmark (and using an alpha pattern) for the first time and I already have it started and now I'm moving on to the actual pattern bit, but I realized that the pattern I'm using (https://www.braceletbook.com/patterns/alpha/113174/) has borders on it, but the instructions for the bracelet are a tad bit confusing. I'm assuming that what I'm supposed to do is have two of my border colour, one on each side, and then just weave it in every time I get to the end of a row, but I'm not sure. Just want to make sure I'm reading this right before I actually start in case I'm terribly wrong.

To get started with alphas, I recommend watching MashaKnots' video on the flat alpha technique. She should answer all your questions in that video.

Using two separate leading strings for the borders is a good idea, because you don't have as much loose strings spanning in the back 🙂

I would not recommend this pattern as your very first alpha. I recommend to try one with just 2 or 3 colours first to get used to it.
