To be perfectly honest, I use kitchen skewers like a kebob would be made on. If you want actual dowels, you can probably find them on amazon or at a craft store.

I usually get chopsticks from takeout at Asian restaurants and sharpen the ends with a handheld pencil sharpener.

I use skewers and cut the pointy end off. Or Walmart has packs of small craft dowels. I’m pretty sure other craft stores have them as well.

@rizzo I use dowels from the craft store, since they are long I cut them and use sand paper to round the edges.
