I’ve been doing bracelets for a while now, but i can’t figure out a convenient start/end for normals and alphas that have uneven string counts. Help me out?

for both, i start a triangle end with the center most string starting in the middle and not being bundled onto each side of the triangle end

You could do a triangle start that is slightly off-center. You can also go for a slanted start (basically a half-triangle start). When doing a slanted start, the uneven amount of strings should not really matter 🙂

Doing a loop with uneven strings: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_IyGiKsjNJMTriangle ends don't have to be even, for example I have a photo of #143915 that is the same technique but not the typical triangle that bracelets are started with. Slanted starts which is basically half a triangle end would work if you didn't want to have an uneven triangle. I haven't tried any interesting starts for alphas, so I don't have any advice for that. |

for a bigger bracelet with uneven strings, i do a bracelet loop with a lopsided double triangle start, and put the uneven strings on the inside. for example imagine a bracelet with 21 strings, i would do a double triangle start with 6, 5, 4, 6 strings in order. the lopsided double triangles make it super easy to hide the odd number of strings, and if you put them on the inside you can just squish the loop down so it doesn’t look off centre! it’s barely even noticeable once the bracelet is finished 🙂 for smaller bracelets i just do a lopsided teardrop loop, it does look a tiny bit uneven but really it’s only noticeable to people who know anything about bracelets, and not at all once you’re wearing it. if you want it to look completely even a slanted start would probably be the best option 🙂
