Can I cut the strings that stick out of the back of an alpha without it coming untied?

idk if this is needed but whenever i cut the strings, i put nails polish on the back so the strings don't fray.

@moonligh I personally sew felt on the backs of mine bc nail polish can make the parts that stick out pretty sharp and can scratch you. idk that's just me tho
