should I knot the ends of my strings to stop unraveling?

Im using DMC floss 6x, and didnt know if i should be halving these to 3? but just my practice i find in both circumstances the strings are wanting to separate as im pulling the knots. is tying a simple knot at the end advised or could that lead to the string wanting to twist?

DMC floss tends to separate the closer to the distal end you grip them. I’d recommend holding them a bit closer to the area where you’re knotting to keep the strands nice and cozy :> adding a knot at the end *might* work, but it would most likely clump and twist, as you said, especially if the singular strands somehow end up at different lengths.

That's very good advice @jazzyghost!

I've been keeping a little bit of water nearby, and I've been just dipping my fingers (and by dipping, I mean like a teeny tiny drop!) in it and gently pinching the individual strings and twisting each one of them a bit when I notice they start to unravel close to my bracelet. That seems to be helping. I've been wanting to try beeswax or petroleum jelly with this but I've been a little hesitant to try it lol.
