I have a variation of #2781881 where i have two yellow strings on each side, to make a solid yellow border once finished. I was going to do a teardrop looped start, and didn't think far enough ahead. I separated the strings as if I was going to start with the triangle starting in row 1, but I cant get the strings to be in the correct starting position as I separated them using row one, and not the triangle starting at row one.

rather than start all over, I just want to make a solid triangle, using the 2 strings that I have bordering the pattern (which I also used to make the loop)

what's the correct way to get my strings started? do I do forward backward knots using only the outside string? or would alternating rows of forwards, then backwards knots to weave it back and forth?

as an aside, now that I have the two halves separated as if Im starting on row 1 ( A B H C A B B A G | D B A A B F E A B ) what's the best way to start this pattern?

I think I just figured out a simple solution; I can just switch red and green. then the triangle works with the way I separated my two side.

thank goodness this pattern worked like that XD

The pattern number you gave is not correct. It might be the number of the variation, not the pattern itself.

It's currently a bit difficult to imagine for me. Do you still need help?

There is currently no variation posted with that number. Is it a variation you created yourself? It will only become visible to others, once you have submitted it and it's accepted by a moderator.
