Try to pull the first half of the knot tight before making the second half.

For me it helps to pull the "base string" of the knot into the opposite direction that the knot has to be. If you're knotting a chevron-like form, then the forward-knots are okay if you just pull the base strings straight, but for some reason, if I have to make a backward-knot "upwards" and to the left of the middle of the chevron, then I need to pull the base string of that knot along the chevron-shape. Otherwise the knots will go anywhere.
I hope that explanation was somewhat understandable, but it's really hard to explain for me haha

Also try to find “ the perfect tightness” for your knots and that keeps the knots of the bracelet more together

for me, that happens when the first half of my knot isn't tight enough! if this happens, don't be afraid to undo and redo their knots until they look good

Knotting tighter works pretty well, but don't knot too hard or else your thread may break! Also many times if you have done a very loose row there is not any need to un-do it because as long as you do the next row relatively tight, it will straighten itself out. Happy knotting! ❤️
