How do I create a normal patten?

halokiwi Moderator	2 years ago by halokiwi Click on "interactive normal" and then change the knots and string colours. You can also add/remove strings and rows. I recommend playing around with it a little bit. Before going back to the first page of the normal pattern generator, click "save" to save your progress!

madisolr11 Advanced	2 years ago by madisolr11 I can change the number of strings and rows, and I know how to change the colors that are already there, but I cannot figure out how to add colors. Help please!
Odanak1811 Moderator	2 years ago by Odanak1811 @madisolr11 In the normal pattern generator you need to add the color in the "color used" section and then add the color letter in the "colors order" section (like if you add a 3rd color which would be c, there needs to be at least 1 c in the colors order section). In the interactive generator, you change the color on top (the one where you can see the hexadecimal code) and then click on the string that you want to be that color on the pattern (any part of the string that isn't the knot).

madisolr11 Advanced	1 year, 12 months ago by madisolr11 Thank you, but it doesn't seem to be changing anything. The string number stays the same and the color doesn't show up down below, even when I put it in the aaaaaaabc thingy. When I try to save it gives me error messages that I can't fix because I can't see the new color to be able to fix it. The interactive section isn't allowing me to add another color at all up there either

halokiwi Moderator	1 year, 12 months ago by halokiwi @madisolr11 I recommend to use the interactive generator. It is easier to use. Here are the steps to changing string colours in "interactive normal": 1) click on the box "using color" and select the colour you want to use 2) after selecting the colour, click on the top or bottom of the string you want to change to that colour to change it to that colour 3) click "save" to save your changes before going back to "normal" I can also give you a step by step instruction on how to do it in "normal", but it's really easier like that 🙂
