how would i get an idea for a normal pattern? do i just try different random things or..?

You can do so many things with normal patterns ๐Playing around with the generator is just one way to get inspired. You can consider what you want your pattern to look like. Should it depict something or should it be abstract shapes. How many colours do you want to use? Should it have a special structure like a 1212 pattern or a shaped pattern? You can doodle on graph paper or use graph paper to plan out the pattern. Sometimes it is easier to find a pattern structure that works this way. I often get inspired to design normal patterns by the things around me. For example, if I see a cool knitted sweater, I might try to design a normal pattern with a similar pattern and colours. Sometimes I also get inspired by looking at other patterns. If you don't know what to make, you can also always check out the request section of the forum. Maybe someone is currently requesting a normal pattern. |
