whenever I make twisted ties to end my bracelet (if thats what they're called) they keep untwisting a little after I tie them and they're never as twisted as I see in pictures. how do I prevent/fix this??

So with twisted ties, the trick is to twist them in opposite directions before twisting them together. You can actually use the same technique for a hairstyle 🙂It’s kind of hard to explain but a video might be more helpful. Another alternative would be to use braids(if you like the look)

first you take the two strands and twist them in the same direction, then you twist them together in the opposite direction, while making sure your not letting the first twist you did get loose!

When twisting the two individual strands in one direction in the beginning, you have to do that so tightly that they basically twist together in the other direction on their own. The twisted tie should be able to keep its shape even before you tie the knot at the end to keep it from untwisting. I always twist them individually and twist them together step by step and not all at once.

Yeah, I think you forgot to twist them in the other direction before tying the knot. You can only do that when you first twist two separate ties to the right. Then you hold them against each other and twist them to the left. They should be doing that on their own, but it looks cleaner when you do it manually.I assume until now you only twisted one tie and only in a single direction and knotted it, correct? Try with two and twisting them together after you twisted each individually. |
