alpha without a loop?

hi! i want to make a bookmark using pattern 138852 for a christmas present and i was wondering if i could make an alpha without a loop? i've never seen an alpha with just a straight edge on both ends or without a loop so i was wondering if it was possible to do that/ if anyone has done a tutorial on it?

I've never tried for myself but I know there are videos on youtube, just look for "friendship bracelet bookmark start" and there's 2-3 of them ! Otherwise i just start mine with a small loop and finish with a little tassel 🙂

you could just start in a straight line at the beginning and make little knots when you’re done! that’s what i do when i’m making bookmarks 🙂

You can also try to do triangle ends where you just extend the pattern and add rows in form of triangle in your background color.
