Hello!Im really new to this and i cant seem to understand how many strings of a color i need. I saw one pattern i liked and it said that it needs 13 stripes and 5 colors but not how many stripes each color has. Am i missing some info somewhere lol? Also does the order i put the colors matter? 😭

Which pattern is it you want to make? You can just put the pattern number here. There are two different types of patterns: alphas and normals. If your pattern is an alpha pattern, you need one string per colour for the leading strings (so 5 leading strings in different colours) and 12 base strings (the number of base strings is always one higher than the amount of strings given). If your pattern is a normal pattern, you need 13 strings, but I cannot tell you how many strings per colour because I would need to see the pattern to be able to tell. |

That's an alpha pattern. You need 11 base strings and 6 leading strings (one leading string per colour).

The number of base strings is always one higher than the amount of strings given because one leading string is counted in addition to the base strings. You can also look at the dimensions of a pattern to see how many base strings and rows the pattern has. The lower number is the amount of base strings. |
