Whenever I make normal patterns (specially the thinner ones) I tend to get holes in the bracelet no matter what. I try to keep the knots the same tightness but it still doesn’t work. Any tips?

You could try tying the first half of your knot tighter than the second, it may allow for more even tension. Another thing you could try is to hold the base string straight down in place and only move the actual knotting string upwards. If you're new to making normal patterns, I would try practicing with patterns without forward-backward-knots & backward-forward-knots, as they tend to be less tight than the others. Having a few small holes (when you hold it up to the light) is only natural though, so I wouldn't worry too much if they are small, as long as the edges are straight and the pattern looks good then you are on the right path. If the holes are fairly big, just try knotting tighter, that is normally the solution. 🙂 |
