I think it’s because you’re making your bracelets on the floor which makes you bend your back. Try knotting on a table

I personally have a few ways with dealing with back pain. I persoally cut myself a longer clipboard out of wood that I don't have to look down as much or I also tent to tape my bracelet on my laptop stand for the same reasons. Then I make breakes and in these do some back exercises that help to calm my back

i like laying on my belly while knotting. i find it’s just as comfortable as sitting down, but I don’t have to hunch over (:

Honestly, no matter what position you are in, you are still aiming your head own which can cause aches and pains, so it's important to regularly get up and stretch your body (I do it every 30 minutes!) This is vital to keeping your back healthy and strong! ❤️

Hello I have back problems on a regular basis from a medical diagnosis, one way like a lot of people are saying the hunching over of the neck, which I am guilty of myself, also bad posture while knotting, I personally don't have the best posture myself so I am one to talk, but a few things that I have found to be helpful, is when I am knotting is having one of those bed rest pillows with the arms and knotting with that on my bed, or knotting at my desk with even a pillow behind my back! I have seen others say that they lay on their stomachs which I have never tried myself, but I am sure that would work fine. Also taking a break every so often, I've heard it is best to follow the 20-20-20 rule for eyes to prevent strain which is after you look at your screen for 20 minutes, you can look at something around 20 feet away for 20 seconds. I have found that stretching out my back can help too. I have heard nobody else say this, but I use a muscle roller, it's not a hallow one, it has a middle that is filled, it has squares that are supposed to mimic finger tips, long rectangles to mimic being the finger of a massagers hand, and a square as like the palm of the hand. It is by trigger point, but I am sure any other brand would work. Here is the link to the one I have if you are interested https://www.academy.com/p/trigger-point-core-mini-12-in-foam-roller (I am sure they have this exact one or one's that are similar at other stores.

As always happy knotting, and hope your back feels better soon!

This doesn’t help if ur laying in the ground but I try to knot in a chair or in bed with one of those sitting up pillows, so I don’t hunch over or get hurt

Yeah. I make bracelets with my head hanger over sometimes and it hurts after! I recommend sitting at a table and taking small breaks while making your bracelet. These tips help me and I hope that they help you too. Merry Christmas!🎄

The general consensus, is, I think, to find a way to sit in a position that is better for your posture. Apart from preparing taller/longer clip boards (which others have mentioned, and which I use), you can also consider setting up a kind of easel (akaawol on YT/IG uses the portable kind used by painters that can be set up on a table) or anything that helps create a comfortable incline on your desk to help improve your posture while knotting.
