Hi I’m new here and I don’t know what is the difference between alpha and normal could someone explain pls?

I think you understand best by looking at them and watching tutorials. They have different structures and are knotted differently.

Patterns #1 and #2 are examples for normal patterns. They are knotted in diagonals. All strings are equal.

Patterns #4847 and #36730 are examples for alpha patterns. They are knotted row by row. You have base strings onto which you knot with your leading strings.

The most simple way to explain it is with normals you have your strings and you knot between them as to where with alphas you have your strings but you have to bring in other strings to knot on top of them
