Hexcolor to DMC color generator

Hello!I'm having trouble with picking the right colors for patterns, especially alphas. I usually try and eyeball it as much as I can but especially with patterns of 15+ colors, it just takes so much time and the colors end up not really that close anyway. So since we do have the hexcolor code, I was wondering if there was a way to convert them into DMC color codes (since the off-brand strings I have seen so far seem to all be using DMC color codes as well). I'm not sure how DMC color codes work but I have a general guess, so it probably needs to be less of an algorithm and more of a database of "hex #XXYYZZ with 15<XX<31 and 0<YY<10 and 200<ZZ<215 go to DMC color 210" or something. Does anyone know if something like that exists? Probably by DMC themselves, since they probably wanna give customers a clue as to what color is what in case of online buyers? I hope this is not a stupid question. Thank you in advance! |
