i’ve done it before once or twice. i would try to tie your ends to a toothpick or a needle. you have to make the ends much longer tho. i’ve found it makes it so much easier

I found this paracord tutorial for a double sliding knot. I think it should be able to use it for friendship bracelets to.

yeah, you can do it. it’s a lot easier tho if you tie the ends to a toothpick or something pointy and hard because it’s easier to twist them around and slide the ends in the loops

Are you sure you can't somehow apply it to embroidery floss?
You can't do the part with the lighter, but everything else should be possible.
It's just a knot, the material you are using doesn't matter.

Can you describe what exactly doesn't work?

Here is how I understand it:
- where the ties meet your bracelet, you tie loose knots (the knots should be loose enough to pull the ties through)
- you pull the ends of the opposite ties through these knots and then pull the knots tight
- you tie a knot at the end of each tie, so the ties don't slip through the sliding knots

Since there already is a knot at the end of your ties, you don't need to do the third step, but you could make a second knot, if you feel like your knot at the end of the tie is too small so it would otherwise slip through.

Idk if this might help someone but I think the name of the knot I’ve seen for a sliding/adjustable knot to put the bracelet on is called “square knot” and it’s not hard to make at all!

You can look up tutorial videos on YouTube for a sliding knot and it isn’t had at all, but I’m not sure if it works with embroidery floss. It sure does with macrame bracelets because you can melt the thread into place, but I guess you can just make a knot at each end so the square knot doesn’t undo 🤷‍♀️
