How do I know how long I have to cut the threads to make my bracelets?

When you first start making bracelets, it's easiest to begin with a normal bracelet pattern with colours that are used an equal amount. (such as #18 or #2)For these you'll need typically need two strings of each colour. So, what I would do is cut a wingspan of the colour, then fold in half to create the two strings. Or if you only need one string of a colour then do half a wingspan of thread 🙂 (generally half a wingspan is a good amount for one string in a normal pattern. If it's used more, add more. If it's used less, add less) For alpha patterns it doesn't really matter how much thread you need as you can always add more later. For the base strings, you should cut them just a little longer than you think the bracelet will end up being. Really hope this helps!! ❤️ |

I have done regular bracelets before, but I wanted to try an alpha bracelet.

@gomsnic000 in an alpha the base strings always need to have the length of the bracelet plus some extra for loops/ties etc.So if you want a full bracelet, take your wrist circumference and some extra for ties. |
