1 skein might just about be enough depending on the string and your knot tension but I would definetely recommend 2 skeins to be on the safe side (:

yeah i agree with Night_Owl. unless it’s a keychain, i always make sure i have another skein of that color because nothing is worse than running out of string and then not having any more
