Hey! I'm a bit over a beginner when it comes to normal bracelets. I've made all the basics like candy strip, chevron, dotted chevron, a few other of those sorts. But now I need ideas for cute normal patterns! There's just so many to pick out. So if you were once a "softmore" in Bracelet making please number some of the patterns you used before!
Thank you,
Lavander

Hi! Here are some of my favorite normal patterns that I’ve made.

#18 arrowhead - a classic!

#98002 beaded loopy thin bracelet - this is a really simple but cool looking bracelet! Looks great with beads!

#126722 loopy macrame style bookmark - so elegant! I love how intricate it looks even though it’s pretty simple.

#23838 ombré fishbone- this one is just so so cool!

#126465 bazinga bracelet- I just really love the shape to this one! It’s so interesting and different!

#26424 zig zag - I’ve made a few of these for bracelet jobs and they’re always popular! Detailed but not too hard.

#104082 shaped chevron variation- I have made several of these, and I just love them so much! It’s a really cool chevron variation.

#103991 diamonds and crosses - this one is really cool! I love the diamonds so much.

#98428 diamonds, zigzags, and dots - I LOVE THIS PATTERN SO MUCH ITS MY FAV BRACELET IVE EVER MADE

#90274 hearts and dots - this one is really dainty and cute!

#77457 diamonds and chevrons - super cute as a ring! I really like this one!

@rollergirl has already given some very excellent suggestions, but if you want some more, here's some I'd recommend 🙂

#150 - hearts - you've probably already seen it, but it's so so sweet and makes for great presents for friends

#8350 - flipflop bracelets! @Adik has a tutorial here https://www.braceletbook.com/tutorials/50_variegated-double-block-bracelet/ . Otherwise you can just do it using pattern #1

#11729 - geometric / 'aztec' - when I was just starting to do more tricky normal bracelets, I did a pattern very similar to this. If you want to practice FB and BF knots and getting your string tension even, I'd recommend something like this

#25049 - distorted chevron - one of my all time favourites. Simple but so effective, plus I've found it pretty easy to keep the edges straight when i'm using this pattern

#49127 - if you liked the dotted chevron, here's something similar!

#3415 - gingham / tartan pattern - a classic

#37431 - a diamond-y celtic-y pattern, definitely one of my faves and a great pattern to practice segment knotting with!

#15230 - knitted bracelets - is it an alpha or is it a normal bracelet?? the jury's still out, but it's a very sweet pattern and very easy

#74845 - interlocking zigzags - there's tutorials by @Adik and @mjlgvw for this pattern! Again, it's very easy (although I did get stuck working out how to end it) but looks very cool. Also similar is #28407, but this one doesn't have a tutorial

#104653 - repeating grid/ polka dots - another good one for segment knotting. I loved this pattern but it got quite monotonous by the end. If you want something similar but has a little bit extra, try #126520, #126519, #10901 or (if you like card games) #20164

#25105 or #566- greek wave pattern - I'd recommend doing these pattens instead of #5608, just because they have 12 strings instead of 11, meaning its a lot easier to make a loop at the start

#29843 - a wave pattern with a gradient twist! definitely more complicated than the basic greek wave but so beautiful

#23580 - shaped snowflakes - if you want to practice shaped normal bracelets, this could be a great pattern for you

#39739 / #35384 - stripes with gaps - I'm not sure what you'd call this technique where you split the threads up and make smaller bracelets within the larger bracelet, but this is a good place to start if you want to learn @innovate has a youtube tutorial linked with #35384 that I'd recommend

#27111 - don't know how to describe it but itsone of my favourites! But it uses a lot of white string and I had big issues trying to get the edges to stop bending, so it might be worth looking into the straight edges technique for normal bracelets!

I know there's a lot here, but I really do love all of them! Hopefully there's something here that interests you ❤️

I love normal patterns! Here's a bunch from my to-dos I recommend. They have even numbers of strings, and many will have equal color usage. My favorites are the arrowheads 🙂

Arrowheads
#266 - a basic diamond arrowhead pattern
*#53096 - a triple diamond arrowhead pattern (one of my favorites)
*#61055 - a narrow, dotted arrowhead - try a similar version #19035
*#1177 - another arrowhead, featuring diamonds enclosing dots (try similar versions, too: #10545 and #125676)
#38860 - a diamond-shaped, long arrowhead
#11040 - a long, basic arrowhead (faces the opposite direction, which some people find easier)
#24529 - another basic arrowhead
#17803 - another basic arrowhead, with larger dots
#127689 - another diamond-adjacent arrowhead
#26678 - a long basic arrowhead
*#17754 - arrowhead that looks like a soundwave (super cool, a new favorite of mine)

#104984 - a 6-strand arrowhead-adjacent patterns (8-strand version is #8542)

Hearts and Flowers
#17786 - a cute 6-strand heart pattern (its 8-strand counterpart is #80889)
#112708 - like the previous pattern but with dots added
#82854 - a fun flower pattern (great for practicing bf and fb knots)
#599 - a really cute hearts-in-stripes pattern - hearts in the center
#115290 - another hearts-in-stripes pattern - hearts on the side

Chevrons and Diamonds
#68027 - an ombre chevron stripe pattern
#94046 - a chevron variant (very fun)
#40743 - a woven two-color diamond pattern
#123180 - a feathery chevron variant
#124902 - an overlapping chevron diamond pattern
#16362 - two-direction chevron variant

Stripes and Zigzags
*#15 - a zigzag pattern! (my absolute all-time favorite pattern)
#29203 - a steeper version of #15
#17990 - a less steep version of #15
#23346 - a stripy zigzag pattern with dots in the middle
#29979, #10302 - a stripe variants with dots
*#3136 - zigzag with dots (try its mirrored version, #4054)

Other
#126278 - an interlocking braid pattern (similar to #125479)
#19548 - a cool outlined square effect
#31858 - a really cool X motif, would be great for a bracelet
#14715 - the "Peruvian wave," great for practicing with loose strings

Obviously don't feel like you need to do all of these - just check them out and see which ones you like. None of them should be super difficult.
