I was wondering if there is any way to know what colors to use for the patterns. Or do you just try to match it as closely as you can?

You just try to match it as closely as you can. You can also use any colours you like.

Do you mean like a number for the color used in a pattern? I sometimes click the making a variation button and it will show me the numbers of each color used in the pattern when there are too many shades close to each other especially in alphas that has skin shades , and you can always be creative and choose your own or try to match it as close as you can, and in normal bracelets I tend to see other people variations ane photos for inspo

Thank you that is a great tip. There are a couple of characters I would like to match as close as possible.

Hi @Kgirl1974,Similar to what the person above said, seeing the color numbers within a variation is helpful. This website below helps you match color codes directly to DMC colors. Other brands have similar or the same color system as DMC. https://threadcolors.com/ Hope this helps, Macrame Maven |
