Base strings showing?

No matter what I do, whenever I make an alpha the base strings always manage to peek through at some point! It makes my bracelets look weird and disoriented, but I don’t know what to do! A little help please?

maybe after you finish each row you can try pushing your knots up with a ruler, also you could use basestrings that are the same color as the background for your pattern, that way, if it peeks through it wont be as noticeable

I have the same problem. I find that making really tight knots as close together as possible helps out. Using a ruler to push up the row is also a really good idea!
