Every time I try to make alpha bracelets they turn out super thin and I use the right amount of base string how do I fix this

That could be caused by a few different things... Maybe the string you are using is quite thin, maybe the pattern is small and doesn't require many base strings, you could be tying the knots too tight... Hard to know without more detail on how they're looking.
