So I'm a beginner and I've learned how to make the pretty forward backward hoop and tie for the beginning and end but I'm looking to start a pattern that only requires one string of each color. What would a more seasoned bracelet crafter recommend I do for the start? Thanks!

Either do a tie for the start or if you really want a loop, follow this tutorial: https://youtu.be/_IyGiKsjNJM

Which pattern is it? I'm not sure if this technique has a name, but normally I do a start on a line. You can see this technique in the photos for #112004. It's fairly easy and is similar to the tringle start, but you follow a line down the pattern instead of a triangle shape. You can also do a triangle start. This tutorial by MashaKnots may help you understand what I mean a bit better https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=05sDSDDr5rM&t=166s The technique that works best will depend on the pattern and if there is a line or a triangle shape which stands out particularly. You can also do a loop even if you need an odd number of strings for a colour. You need to cut that string slightly longer than the rest and then leave an inch or so. Make the loop as normal and then cut the excess off. I think someone has linked a video tutorial for this technique above. Personally I try to avoid doing a loop when I have an odd number of strings as it's just a bit of a hassle, but thats not to say it can't be done. |

Hey! I was hoping someone would help me. I have been wanting to learn how to do twisted ties, do you think you could teach me or send a video link? 😊
