Click (or hover your mouse) on your profile and hit create pattern and choose between normal or alpha patterns. You can choose colors and the order of strings and choose the knots you want to do. Its confusing at first but it gets easier. After you submit your pattern gets accepted or declined. (if it gets declined you can still make changes) I hope this helps!

When I create a new pattern is it possible to add a picture file for the pattern?

You can only make patterns on the site, not the app. Go to the top menu bar, hover over your avatar for the drop down menu. Then click 'Create patterns'. |

@Antalia you can upload a photo once the pattern has been accepted

I don’t mean that, I mean to actually create it from a picture. Rather than having to enter every pixel by hand,

I mean when you have an alpha pattern it is just a very low resolution picture. So I could create one by taking a picture and reducing the resolution until I have exactly the right number of pixels for a pattern.

It’s ok I’ve figured it out. Yes it’s possible. There is an option called Alpha from image

@Antalia that's great 😄 (if you want another user to be notified when you write something in the forum, you have to write @ and their username)

@KraxyKnots thanks. I’ve tried to submit two patterns but it keeps coming back as not ok. I’ve read both recommended articles and I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.

Oops @krazyknots. Oops I mistyped your name. So I’ve tried to submit some patterns having read both articles but they still don’t seem to meet requirements. Could you help me by telling me what to change and how? Thx

With alpha bracelets, you can create your design on graph paper first to maybe get a better idea of how it will look. I go either way. I personally still have problems with designing normal patterns because its not as easy as pixel art.

@Antalia I recommend to either write your question in the review notes when resubmitting your pattern or messaging the moderator who declined it (I'm assuming @KrazyKnotz) directly to ask your question.

@Antalia I answered your questions in the Declined Message which is at the top of your pattern's page.
